Concept: subordinator

Definition

A subordinator is a °grammatical marker that occurs in a peripheral clause position and that indicates that the clause is a °subordinate clause.

Comments

Note that traditionally, subordinators are called "subordinating conjunctions", but it is very hard (and actually not necessary) to define a concept "conjunction" that comprises both coordinators and subordinators, so here this traditional concept is not used.
