The number of possible states for this feature is rather large and encompasses all claims about complete and partial word orders found in the grammars consulted for this survey. The partial word orders encountered during coding were V-first, V-last, and S-last (the latter only in Hanis, Frachtenberg 1922: 414). There are other conceivable partially restricted orders such as “O-last” or “S-first”, but these were not encountered...."
