The definitions for this feature are by design mostly compatible with Dryer (2013c), from which we imported some data, with the exception of Dryer’s “internally-headed relative clauses”. While Dryer assigns these internally-headed relative clauses their own distinct state, we have narrowly focused on surface word order, and encoded such cases according to the order of the attributive element and the head noun. This decision belies a potential comparative problem: the order of a head noun and a direct attributive modifier (the be.beautiful(-ADJVZ) dog) is perhaps not directly comparative with a head noun and a verbal modifier which is inside a relative clause (the dog, which be.beautiful)."
