focus marker (STR) = expression by a separate morpheme of the information in an identificational construction that is the focus. Example: in Rendille iìnam-eì y-imi ‘The BOY came,’ the suffix -eì marks the Noun iìnam- ‘(the) boy’ as the focus. (Section 11.4.2) ❡
